No shocking result in a game when third rankedWonju DB (25-14) edged 9th ranked Samsung Thunders (12-26) in Seoul 83-80 on Saturday. Wonju DB outrebounded Seoul Thunders 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American center Henry Ellenson (208-1997, college: Marquette) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Ethan Alvano (185-1996, college: CSUSM) accounted for 18 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Alvano is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Wonju DB players scored in double figures. Turkish power forward Kerem Kanter (208-1995, college: Xavier) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized American guard Justin Gutang (191-1997, college: Skyline JC) added 20 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively for Seoul Thunders in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Wonju DB have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Anyang. Seoul Thunders lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 26 games lost.
